Self-hosted video platform for both live streams and recorded videos. Don't like the idea of whatever I create only being accessible from third-party services.
Would like to expand Falling Clouds into a fancier website. Log details about that journey. Plans for lots of AWS involvement.
Create a chatbot for Discord, Matrix, and Zulip.
Have long wanted to better understand Linux internals and what better way than to set it up from the very basics?
Long interested in trying my hand at creating native applications on major platforms: Windows, Linux, MacOS, Android, iOS.
There are things which would be nice to have happen in the browser. One more area of development to explore.
If I'm interested in streaming development of web things, secrets are generally involved. Don't know if this is something already developed, but it would be neat to have an OBS plugin that can scrub parts of video containing text that should not be shown. Database secrets, AWS account credentials, etc; it would be nice to not have to manually do recording manipulation to have those things removed life. This may require computer vision or an ML model to do.
It's uncomfortable to store various bits and pieces of media or data with third-party services. Instead, I'm more interested in what it could look like to have a system setup for all the things that I'm interested in and then potentially provde that as a service for others to worry about.
Being able to tie all of this information to a timeline could provide some interesting visualization opportunities. There's a whole lot of possible information in the personal sphere when one starts to think about it: health, finance, travel, interess...
There's likely a couple of systems with these types of thoughts in mind that have been attempted before, surely some that are open source. Would be worthwhile to take a look at some and review them.
Something akin to OneNote. Would like to tag / categorize things both manually and automatically. Taking an AWS category as example, all entries that have items that related to AWS would be linked to that category and there would be a view for it. This may be more about indexing than categorizing.
Taking inspiration from Anki, possibly this should be part of the note taking application. Thought in mind for this idea is for short/quick one-liner style notes, to keep and track them, and then display them back to the user at some random point in the future. There are often ideas or things that I think of at one point in time that I would like to follow up on in the future, but never bothered to. This would be something to help with that.
Books, music, videos, pictures, documents, bookmarks, rss feeds, and other things. I want a self-hosted service to store all of this random media that's collected over time, and to be able to make it available to myself from anywhere.
I've been interested in the idea of having a personal archive.org for various sites that I visit. Came across this site/project which partially addresses that. Would be good to follow up and see what it takes to implement and improve on.
There are those occasions when one wants to share details about a purchase, but those details are long gone to the ether of time. Create a system that makes it easy to track details about a new purchase, as well as recall details about old purchases. Consider voice interface for both data entry and retrieval, image search for auto population about purchase details.
Details to capture about a purchase:
